Japanese Sumie

Sumie-Japanese brush painting is the art form of painting with sumi- ink and expressing the essence of objects, flowers, birds, animals or landscape. The art form is influenced by Zen Buddhism, which is the interplay of black and white or real and nothingness (existence of emptiness). The sense of harmony and simplicity of the art form represents Japanese culture.
